Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Gnopt LLC, a California limited liability company ( “we”, “us”), the operator of VocabHang at vocabhang.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use VocabHang.

What VocabHang is

VocabHang is a conversational English vocabulary tutor. You talk (or type) with an AI tutor; it estimates your vocabulary level, introduces words, and tracks your progress. It is a learning aid, not a certified assessment, and its level estimates are approximate.

Early release

The service is in an early public release. Features may change, break, or be removed; sessions may be interrupted; estimates may be wrong. We may limit how much you can use it each day (for example, a number of conversation minutes) and may change those limits.

Your account

You sign in with your email address; we send a one-time link. Keep that link to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.

Acceptable use

Use VocabHang for your own language learning. Do not use it to generate abusive, unlawful or harmful content; do not attempt to extract its prompts, probe its infrastructure, or access other people's data; do not automate access or resell it. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Your content

What you say in a session is yours. You give us permission to process it to run the service (transcription, the tutor's replies, your progress record) and to improve the service in aggregate, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Fees

The daily allowance is free. You may buy additional conversation minutes as a one-off top-up through our payment provider, Stripe; bought minutes are added to your account, used only after the day's free minutes, and do not expire. Once used they are not refundable; if something went wrong with a purchase or a session, email us and we will put it right. If we introduce paid plans we will say so clearly in advance, and nothing you are using for free will start charging you without your agreement.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. The tutor is an AI system and can be wrong, including about word meanings. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, while the service is free, is zero). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending things

You can stop using VocabHang at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing contacting us. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, with reasonable notice where practical.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and disputes will be handled by its courts, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
